iPasslabs Unveiled as Asia's First PCI-SIG® Authorized Test Lab, Targeting AI Market Growth
With the surging demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and High-Performance Computing (HPC), the PCI Express® (PCIe®) high-speed interface plays a pivotal role. In response, iPasslabs recently announced a significant milestone: achieving official PCI-SIG® authorization to become Taiwan's and APAC's first PCI-SIG® Authorized Test Lab (ATL). The company will provide PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 5.0 up to 16GT/s Compliance Testing to PCI-SIG members and is set to launch its PCIe 6.0 specification test fixtures in June 2025, positioning itself to capture early market advantages.
In recent years, with the rapid development of generative AI, high-performance computing data centers, and cloud servers, their architectural designs have become increasingly complex. However, the PCIe interface enables the seamless integration of computing data among IC chips, memory, storage and other devices throughout the data center, establishing it as one of the indispensable high-speed signal interfaces. In response to these technological demands, PCI-SIG has expedited the release timeline for next-generation specifications. Products utilizing PCIe 6.0 technology are expected to gradually hit the market by the end of 2025, with high-speed Network Interface Cards (NICs) and high-speed storage anticipated to be among the first to adopt PCIe 6.0 technology.
To meet the product development needs of PCI-SIG members worldwide, iPasslabs is honored to have received authorization from PCI-SIG, becoming the first PCI-SIG Authorized Test Lab in both Taiwan and APAC. iPasslabs is qualified to provide official PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 5.0 Compliance Tests. iPasslabs is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, with two branch offices located in Shanghai, China, and Penang, Malaysia. This allows members to demonstrate compliance and be listed on the official PCI-SIG "Integrators List" without constraints of time or location, thereby accelerating their product time-to-market.
Furthermore, iPasslabs is keeping pace with market demand and is set to launch PCIe 6.0 specification PCI Express M.2® and PCI Express U.2® test fixture products in June 2025. It also anticipates introducing fixtures for OCP and EDSFF, two additional form factors, in the third quarter of 2025. This initiative timely addresses the needs of ecosystem customers by providing them with precise verification results. All product designs adhere to the guidelines provided by PCI-SIG. Post-verification, the loss results of these test fixtures all comply with the PCI-SIG's specifications. The products feature 1.85 MMPX connectors and utilize a patented technology co-developed with the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) to optimize via design for enhanced electrical quality, ensuring users to achieve more accurate testing results.
Eric Shen, CEO of iPasslabs, stated, "Having worked in the field of high-speed signal interfaces for over 20 years, I have deeply experienced the evolution of the industry. PCIe technology is particularly crucial. Due to application demands, the time-to-market interval for each new generation is rapidly shortening. To be a strong partner for our industry customers, we are committed to the advanced development in high-speed signal interfaces. We are also an active memeber of PCI-SIG work groups, participating in meetings of the serial enabling working group and holding a gold suite for one of the test items at the quarterly PCI-SIG Compliance Test Workshops. iPasslabs' customers are located worldwide, ranging from leading chipmakers and system vendors to OEM/ODMs and AI chip startups.”
“With the increased demand for testing of PCIe products, PCI-SIG is pleased to welcome iPasslabs as the latest Authorized Test Labs,” said Al Yanes, PCI-SIG President and Chairperson. “Support from iPasslabs helps enable a robust PCIe technology ecosystem in Taiwan and provides another option for members to participate in the PCI-SIG Compliance Program and enter the market with PCIe-compliant products on their own schedule.”
iPasslabs is dedicated to providing the industry's most advanced and professional turnkey services for high-speed signal interfaces—from initial simulation analysis and validation testing to test fixture products. iPasslabs efficiently assist customers in completing their product development phase and accelerating their time-to-market.
