MIPI Alliance, BitifEye, and iPasslabs will Co-Host MIPI A-PHY Compliance Test Event, Accelerating Smart Automotive Industry Development.
With the trend in the automotive industry moving toward autonomous driving, intelligent cockpits, and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) connectivity, the demand for long-distance, high-speed, and highly reliable data transmission within vehicles is increasing. To help accelerate the adoption of the MIPI A-PHY specification, the MIPI A-PHY Compliance Program Test Event will be held in Taipei, Taiwan, from December 8 to 12, 2025. It is jointly hosted by MIPI Alliance, BitifEye Digital Test Solutions GmbH, and iPasslabs, and will take place at the iPasslabs Taipei laboratory. This event will provide for the first time ever MIPI A-PHY physical layer validation services in Asia as well as strong technical support to the smart automotive industry.
In the past, connections between in-vehicle sensors, displays, and electronic control units relied on proprietary technologies from various vendors, lacking a common standard. MIPI A-PHY is the industry’ s first standardized automotive high-speed transmission interface, designed as a SerDes physical layer specifically for automotive applications. Its features include long-reach and high-speed transmission, asymmetric data link, and high reliability. It is primarily used in applications such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), in-vehicle infotainment systems (IVI), and supporting functional safety and security. As an open standard, many key vendors, including Bosch, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, Intel, Samsung, and Sony, have joined its ecosystem. This means automakers can source compatible components from different suppliers, reducing single-vendor risk and lowering costs through production at scale.
For the MIPI A-PHY Compliance Program Test Event at iPasslabs in Taipei, iPasslabs will provide advanced test equipment and a professional technical team to assist participating member companies in validating their MIPI A-PHY related products. For instrument vendors and the member companies, this is a rare opportunity to obtain highly valuable test results, which can be used to optimize their products or technology.
As a leading provider of the high-speed signal transmission validation service, iPasslabs is continuously expanding our professional expertise and is committed to providing the most comprehensive high-speed signal validation services. To this end, iPasslabs honorly has established a strategic partnership with BitifEye. This event marks a great start to our collaboration. BitifEye plays a key role in the development of MIPI A-PHY standards, and their extensive experience and technical capabilities bring significant value to iPasslabs. Together, we aim to provide top-tier professional services to customers worldwide, creating a win-win situation.
“We are excited about our partnership with iPasslabs. Our new, joint test lab, operated by BitifEye iPasslabs Test Services Europe GmbH (BITS) in Boeblingen, Germany, and iPasslab’s test labs in Asia Pacific, offer MIPI A-PHY adopters global services and expertise”, said Alexander Schmitt, CEO and co-founder of BitifEye.
"We are honored to receive the recognition from the MIPI Alliance following our partnership with BitifEye, and subsequently the MIPI A-PHY Compliance Test Event will be held at iPasslabs in Taipei," said Eric Shen, CEO of iPasslabs. "Leveraging our expertise as PCIe Authorized Test Lab and our capabilities in high-speed signal validation, iPasslabs will make efforts to ensure the success of this event. Our goal is to enable that all vendors dedicated to MIPI A-PHY chip development and full-system integration can obtain the necessary information and solutions from this event, accelerating their go-to-market timelines and meeting their demands."
About the MIPI A PHY Compliance Test Program
Initiated by the A-PHY Working Group, the compliance program is being established to help ensure that MIPI A-PHY® and A-PHY-related specifications in MIPI's Automotive SerDes Solutions (MASS™) framework meet the industry’s needs and requirements. The program focuses on testing A-PHY first, using the recently published A-PHY Reference Compliance Test Suite.
